Abstrakt
Typical findings in different cases with mesothelioma are being demonstrated during the session. Common imaging modalities are sonography, chest-X-ray, multi-slice computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission tomography in combination with computed tomography (PET/CT). Malignant pleural mesothelioma (MPM) can invade the visceral and parietal pleura and adjacent thoracal structures as well as mediastinal lymph nodes and the contralateral lung. To assess an appropriate therapeutic approach an interdisciplinary patient selection is obligatory. Multi-slice CT/HRCT, MRI and PET/CT play an essential role in evaluation, differential diagnosis and staging of MPM.
