Abstrakt

In the management of hypersensitivity pneumonitis corticosteroids can be used as a pharmacological approach, but there is no good evidence in the literature. Early diagnosis and detection of antigen source are critical for prevention of recurrent antigen exposure, and are enough to improve or heal most patients and to avoid a chronic disease progression. According to this, preventive measurements are substantial to reduce or eliminate allergen exposure. In this review the literature of primary or secondary preventive measurements in high-risk populations (e.g. farmers, pigeon fancier) is presented.
