Abstract

Magnesium deficiency is common in clinical practice. While patients often report muscle cramps – the most recognized symptom – the potential health consequences extend far beyond neuromuscular complaints. Magnesium is an essential biofactor, playing a pivotal role in the regulation of the physiological stress response and maintenance of sleep quality, both of which are increasingly jeopardized by today’s high-stress lifestyles. Early recognition and targeted intervention for magnesium deficiency have therefore become clinically relevant.
