Abstrakt

A 56-year-old female patient is reported who acquired a COVID-19 infection in March 2022 while working in a daycare center. The insured person’s illness has been confirmed by positive PCR for SARS-CoV-2 viruses. The disease was recognized as a occupational disease according to No. 3101 with given causality of exposure, proven illness, and probable justification for liability. In May 2022, around 10 weeks after falling ill, the patient developed hyperthyroidism, which was subsequently diagnosed as autoimmune thyroidopathy (synonymous with Graves’ disease). During the assessment, hyperthyroidism is still detectable despite thyrostatic treatment. The autoantibodies typical of Graves’ disease are also still pathologically elevated. Clinically, there is a weakness in performance; spiroergometry was limited by chronotropic insufficiency. As a result, it was proposed to the accident insurance institution that a reduction in earning capacity of 30% to be awarded. Due to the frequently favorable course of the disease, an expert follow-up examination in 1 year is recommended.
