Abstrakt

Patients with an incurable disease have to deal with complex symptoms and require sensitive perception and communication. Each involved profession has a special communicative access route to these patients. We present four different professional perspectives regarding the communication with patients in our lung clinic: 1. clinical nurse specialists, 2. physicians, 3. psychologists, 4. hospice service workers. Training in the field of communication is an essential requirement to meet the needs of patients with a complex burden. Multiprofessional collaboration and a focus on patient-centered goals enhance the quality of life of patients with limited prognosis.
