Abstract

Autogenic Drainage (AD) or Modified Autogenic Drainage (MAD) are self-care techniques for efficient clearance of airways. Patients learn to remove their mucus from their brochioles, to transport mucus towards the central airways, and to eliminate the mucus using low-pressure, soft cough clearance techniques. Advanced therapies for mucus clearance have been developed on the basis of MAD. The underlying physiological mechanismus of MAD have been further developed and intensified through advanced techniques. One of these techniques is explained in this presentation.
